Preliminary logotype treatments. Later experimented with a script font and brought in elements inspired by woodworking.
Next, I incorporated a badge style logo, this time using more overt symbols such as the circular saw and a wood shaver.
Going further, I experimented with mimicking the shape of a wood shaver to add depth and more intrigue.
Back to a more badge style mark, I incorporated again the circular saw and also experimented with the rings of a tree.
The final versions of the logo can be seen here. At this point I fine-tuned the type weights to the client's wishes. Producing a simple, yet effective mark to encompass Cochran's goals.
